“The Rancho Bernardo Inn, a luxury resort in San Diego, is offering a unique promotion where you can stay for just $19 a night, but there’s a catch—you’ll need to sleep in a tent and bring your own toilet paper. This offer comes as the resort, which spans 200,000 acres and features three pools, a golf course, three restaurants, and a spa that was named No. 1 by Condé Nast in 2008, faces challenges due to the declining economy.
John Gates, the general manager of Rancho Bernardo, explained that during a brainstorming session, they wanted to come up with a creative and fun way to offer discounts and promotions, something different from the usual offers. The idea behind this “Survivor Package” was to make the best of tough economic times while providing customers with a unique experience.
The “”Survivor Package”” starts at $219 per night, but guests can customize their stay by removing certain amenities to lower the price. For example, opting out of breakfast or other luxury items, like toiletries, can reduce the cost even further.”
